Most commonly asked questions about Sunrise Children

Learning Center.

Q:  Does each program have set curriculum they follow?

A:  Yes, each program has their own curriculum.  Teachers use this curriculum as a guide when developing their weekly lesson plans.  Language and literacy, self-help skills, outdoor and indoor play, field trips and enrichment programs are a big part of each curriculum.

Q:  Is your staff qualified?

A:  Yes.  Each of our teachers are educated and have experience working in Early Childhood.  They have all received CPR and First Aid training.  They are encouraged to continue their education and are provided trainings in Early Childhood by Sunrise.  The teachers have meetings regularly with the program director to discuss and evaluate the curriculum.

Q:  Do you provide lunch for the children?

A:  Each day we provide a hot, healthy, nutritious lunch for the children.  Our menus have been approved weekly by a nutritioist.

Q:  Tell us about your health and safety procedures?

A:  We have a strict health care policy that each parent signs when they enroll their child.  We also have a health consultant who is available at all times.

Our emergency and evacuation procedures are practiced regularly. They are also posted in each classroom for all to see.

Sunrise has a security system in the center.  Each parent is given a code in order to get into the center.

Q:  Tell us about Parent/Teacher communication?

A:  There is a monthly PTA meeting and we encourage parents to participate. We have an open door policy where you can come and go as you like.  Each program has a daily board where the teachers write what the children did for the day.  They also provide the parents with a daily sheet that is sent home.  It’s nice to have the daily information when you get home.  It’s a great conversation piece.

We welcome parents involvement.  We are very open and encourage idea, thoughts, and suggestions parents may have.
